Just a quiet fathers Day

Just a quiet day at home really. We had home made hamburgers for lunch and chocolate cupcakes.

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day!.
I wish I could say it in person and its very hard to be excited on days like today when your no longer here. I miss the fun we use to have, the BBQ's, family time, you asking me to get you a beer 'for an old digger' even though you never fought in any war (the battle of the pacific hotel at Revesby doesn't count dad), the way you would get all excited when we gave you your fathers day presents and rub your hands together and act like the biggest kid carefully pulling the paper off.
I miss you singing Opera (or should I say trying to), when you get up, and how when I made Anzac cookies you would eat them before they cooled and I'd get cranky with you, you said they were better warm.Im not happy you died on mums birthday either, I willed you to live for one more day but in the end you fought a really hard battle right to the very end. You didnt want to go, you never did, you felt really ripped off that you still had so much life to live and couldnt do it, yet some murderer is alive and healthy. You even devised a plan of taking 3 people out with you, in a big shoot out. I had to convince you that if I had to push you in a wheelchair, cork the gun, aim and pull the trigger, it might not be the best idea, we use to have discussions on who our top three would be, depending on the day it would vary, mostly family members or people we hated, just for a laugh.
Cody and Joel really suffer with you not here, sometimes I wish you were here to help me with them because at times Im so lost.
I heard you when I was in labour, you gave me strength to get through it, I have never told anyone you came to me but I knew you were there, thats why I was smiling so much because I knew you had come to see our baby. I didnt even feel weird with you in the labour room, it was comforting knowing you were there.
Christmas will be here again soon and I wont have you to play santa or wear your special apron, higly embarrasing but everyone was so use to us and our silly ways- without you we aren't as silly and fun but I try to be.Thinking of you like I do everyday. You always told me I was your best son!!!

Birthdays, Birthdays everywhere

What a week in the Williams house we have had!!!!! Firstly last weekend was pretty busy with the boys grandfather and grandmother down from Queensland, then Joels official 11th Birthday on Tuesday which was a mixture of good and not so good celebrations.

We had a family dinner for his birthday. I made some cakes, which I totally screwed up but with a little bit of cream and icing and stick in an Australian flag, Bobs your uncle and the kids are happy! Joel chose mexican for dinner which we all really love because it also means easy cooking, easy eating kinda night.

On a bad note, Joel decided he would punch a kid at school and got himself a 10 day suspension, can you believe he got suspended on his birthday. Naughty boy!
Then it was Joshuas birthday today. He turned 3! Because he never had a party before, we kinda went all out and had a pirate party even with an official pirate, it was so much fun making the boys costumes and his cake. I am so proud of myself for doing such an awesome job, they turned out great!Arrrr me hardies, where's the pirate party!

I'm 3 now and I've got 'tude! Oh my, my little personality prince

Arrrr, face paintin

Mummy wench and pirate baby

Joshua's birthday cake that I made myself. I'm so happy with how they turned out.
5 oclock shadow pirates.

Balloon races

Running around chasing bubbles

Our Pinata committed suicide before we could make him walk the plank
We had such a good time, straight after his party which went from 11am to 1pm we then had a family dinner for lunch. Steves mum was there and it was her birthday as well. I made these beautiful angel cakes with cream and flake chocolate speckles, oops forgot to take a photo of that. After taking over 200 photos, I was all photo'd out.

Spending time with Poppy

To help celebrate Joels 11th Birthday on the 19th of August, his Grandfather Kerry and wife Ros came down from Queensland for the weekend. We spent a few hours showing off 'our' town before coming home and having a lovely dinner, bombfire and party activities.

Joel also had a 'claytons' birthday cake and a friend sleep over.

Kerry, Joel and Cody at the lookout at forster
Out the front of our house before Poppy and Ros went home.

We had a lovely time talking and watching the kids play our new Guitar hero that Joel got for his birthday (early I might add)!!!

The above photo is me and Andy playing Guitar hero, The boys are complaining I hog the game but really Im just practising so I can help them. Notice I made this photo smaller, this is so I look smaller too. hahahaha Im still stocking up for the winter.

We decided to make masks as well and as you can see the boys had a great time designing and painting.

A pretty good weekend all round, cake, lovely food, a warm fire, wine and good company.
