The year 2008

What a year 2008 has been with many exciting achievements, new arrivals and goals achieved, its also been another year of challenges and taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture in life and trying to join the peices of the puzzle together.

This year has seen many exciting things happen. I spent 5 months of the year pregnant with Andy who was born in May. He will be 8 months old tomorrow, time has flown by, he crawls, pulls himself up on furniture, says mummm, and dadadada and bubba. He looks when you call his name, tries to stand up in his cot, has 3 teeth with the 4th one hoping to make an appearance anyday. He isnt sleeping through the night yet but he is perfect with ginger red hair and beautiful blue eyes. He certainly has fitted into our family life very well.

This year I also got to meet my neice for the first time. She is 7 and we had no idea she exisited. We have missed out on so much of her life but hope as she gets older we will see more of her. She is so smart, a real high achiever and I hope in years to come she will read back on this and know that I am so proud of her and hope she continues to excel and make something of her life. I know she will.

I also finished my second degree in Midwifery. It was the hardest time of my life. To be thrown into the deep end in a very high risk hospital was overwhelming. Not only did I return from maternity elave after Joshua, I jumped straight into a full on university degree. I felt such pride the day I graduated. I had to hold back the tears, I felt so relieved that Id finally finished.

I also started my MS treatment. grrrrrr daily injections that leave welts and itchy lumps all over my stomach and legs, thank got Ive got a fat gut with lots of room to inject. I hate them but I do it so I can continue to be a mum and live an active life.

I've also become involved with my local playgroup and spend many hours with play dates, playgroup and mummys nights out and have made some great life long friends. We have had such a ball going out, meeting up an chatting. I luff my girls. Ive become such good friends with them, Renee pictured below with our best facebook attempt and Paula also doing out 'self portraits' are my buds. We are the funky committee that are the coolest ever. I luv em.

I turned 33 this year. Another year older, dont know about the wiser part though.

So bring on 2009, A year of new beginnings, fresh starts, exciting adventures and maybe even a few surprises along the way.

I also had a new niece Lily Rose, born on christmas Eve. Nathan is smitten with his new daughter and soon it will be Adam and Sarahs turn to have their very first baby- a little girl due any day now, I think her name is going to be Annabel which is so cute. I notice every Annabel I come across now.

So although pretty low key still lots of things happening in the day of the life of a Williams.

What will 2009 hold?

So bring on 2009 Im all ready.

Merry Christmas 2008

Christmas this year was extra exciting, not only did we have little Andy to complete our family, we were also back on the MId North Coast, unlike last year were we were stuck in a tiny unit while I worked, we now have the room of a few acres and a lovely place to call home. I hosted christmas this year. Adam and Nathan spent christmas with their partners who were due to give birth- Nathan had his on Christmas Eve, little Lily, we decided we would all have our own christmas and catch up later.

So it was me, Steve, the boys, my mum and steves Mother and step father. Was a really lovely day, stress free and happy.


Of course 'santa' delivered way to many presents and Im sure we had enough food to last weeks but we all had so much fun. For breakfast it was bacon and eggs made by mum, Lunch was prawns and oysters, pork, turkey, ham, roasted veges, and cookies and cream cheese cake, we couldnt fit the pavlova in, Dinner was whatever we could fit in.


Another year goes by with out my dad but he wasnt to far away from our thoughts.

My little man is so cute. We went to his christmas party and he got up and performed a little musical number with his class.His friend Emma is next to him and both of them did all the actions to' the wheels on the bus' and other songs.

He then had to show us where he plays and happily showed us the slippery dip

Can you see the ring around the moon????

Unlike Saturn, which has actual, physical rings, the ring you can sometimes see around the moon is merely an optical illusion. It's an effect of our own atmosphere that meteorologists call a "halo effect," because diffracted light rays create a halo around a bright object.
Here's how it works: Moon halos are caused by tiny ice crystals that have gathered twenty thousand feet above the ground, as thin, wispy clouds. These clouds are so thin, you might not notice them at night, if it weren't for their effect on the moonlight. Incoming light rays from the moon are bent--or "diffracted"--by these ice crystals at an angle of twenty-two degrees. This means that in addition to the direct moonlight, you will also see diffracted moonlight in a circle twenty-two degrees away from the moon. This is about the distance of your fist, held at arm's length. Like a rainbow, this halo can even be slightly colored; red on the inside, and blue on the outside.
And, yes, it can mean that rain or snow is coming soon. Those high, wispy clouds could be the forerunners of storm clouds right behind them.

I was very lucky to be able to take some photos of the kids at our playgroup and these are some of Joshuas- more like outtakes lol, it was so funny, he soon lost his concentration when he noticed a sore on his leg. Such a cutie, too bad about the daggy hat.

Its my birthday today

Well on the 11th it was.....

On the 11th of the 11th 1975 at 10:51am, yes thats right, 9 minutes to 11am, an angel was born in the name of Meegan......hehehehe

Im now 33 years old and some days feel every bit of it. I jumped on a treadmill today and could only do a few hundred metres before I had to have a break, this old duck isnt what you use to be.

Trip to Queensland

Finally I have time to sit down and update my blog, lately it has been so busy and will only get worse with christmas on the way. Last week saw us go to Queensland for one of my best mates engagement parties. I finally got to meet her fiance Scott who seems like a lovely man and I wish them all the happiness in the future. We had a lovely time at their engagement party and really enjoyed ourselves.

We stayed at Kerry and Ros's place in the Tamborine mountains, it was so beautiful and we had such a lovely time, we even managed to squeeze in a day at Wet and Wild. Kerry and Cody went on most of the rides together and I had lots of fun taking photos of them as they came off the ride. Joel went on one ride, got scared and pretty much didnt go on anymore- his face said it all.

We also met up with my friends who are part of a group of women who had babys in May 2008, Andy enjoyed himself with his little buddies Cooper and Oliver, was so cute watching them all roll around.
